Haiti

I just wanted to write a quick blog about Haiti. Through my research that I did for class, I found out that there are 35,000 pregnant women in Haiti right now. 10,000 of those women are supposed to give birth in the next 30 days. I can't imagine being a pregnant woman with limited amount of water, food, and shelter. CNN did a video coverage about "Haitians helping each other" that really impressed me. I couldn't help but stop and imagine what Americans would do if a 7.0 earthquake sent all of our homes and buildings to the ground. Would other nations help us like they are helping Haiti? I think they would. My opinion about America is a lot of the time very negative. It is hard to believe there is more to America than pure greed when looking through my eyes. Seeing how quickly and without question we are willing to help our brothers and sisters in Haiti has made me see that everything we do is not to benefit ourselves.
