You are the potter and I am the clay...

Today I went to church. Yes, I know it's saturday. Don't judge me :)
Um, AMAZING. Gosh I really want to encourage you all to listen to the podcast of J.D. Greer's sermon for this week. It is free on iTunes and it is under the Summit Church or somethin like that...

But I want this post to focus on one little bit of what the pastor shared.

There are these ancient potters who used this unique techniques of pottery. They would make the pot and then they would break it. Then they would take liquid gold and use it to fill in the cracks and therefore when the pot what finished it was more valuable and it was stronger.

Dude, THAT'S ME! He made me into this human and then I was broken. I thought I was hopeless but God has put me back together and filled my cracks with his sweet gold and now I'm more beautiful and more valuable and stronger than before! Praise the Lord for allowing me to be broken so that I can start to understand what true grace and redemption is.

We are all broken. We are not perfect but God's grace gives you greater authority in someone's life than your own perfection. God has spoken forgiveness and healing... Embrace that reality! God takes everything, even my own stupidity and weaves it for the beauty of his plan! God's grace can free you from the paralysis of guilt!

When you're in pain and you just want to say "screw life!" and just not care and go on a sinning spree, know that there is a better way to ease the pain. Pain is inevidable but how you deal with that pain is what makes the difference. God's grace eases the pain.

The cross represents the death of your sins and the resurection represents the future you need to start living.

I hope that you will understand the freedom that comes with dying to your sins. With the death of your sins comes the life of grace and love and redemption and beauty! I wouldn't trade God's love for ANYTHING. Thank you, Father. Please keep revealing how deep your love is day by day for I know that I can never fathom the fulness of your love.
