Sweet Redemption

Wow. I have a TON on my brain right now but first off let me just say that God is soooo good.

Let's talk about Rae Francis. Homegirl is so freakin amazing and such a beautiful creation and display of God's faithfulness and His love. Rae's mom passed away in September due to cancer. But even after going through all of that Rae still knows that God is good and that He loves her. She still praises God and that is just so beautiful to me. Yeah life is messy and straight sucks sometimes, but that doesn't mean that God isn't good or that He's abandoned us.  God pursues us and loves us and wants us to be happy with Him and not due to our circumstances. So Rae and I both have this common passion for photography and so we got together and took pictures and just caught up with each other's lives. So much has changed over this past year it's crazy! Then it started to rain so we went to starbucks (which her dad had given her money for both of us. Sweet, sweet man.) and just read scripture and talked about God and it was so good and so needed. To understand grace and the depths of love is such a beautiful thing and to talk about it just makes my heart smile. Then when I was checking my facebook I got a really encouraging message from one of my cousins. I was like, "Oh hey God, what? you feel like giving me a double dose of encouragement and love today? I mean dang I'm not complainin!" I'm so undeserving of this love but so thankful for it.

This morning I went to Ridgecrest for the first time in maybe over a year. It was so great to see everyone but kind of scary seeing how everyone is growing up. I also went to sunday school which was so good to see Mrs. Salmon. She is such a precious and beautiful woman of God and she is real and honest and I respect her so much. We talked about how Christ is the bread of life. I really love when people look at scripture and find something in it that I had never even thought of. We were reading in John when Jesus feeds the 5,000 men & however many women and children. In the end there were 12 baskets of bread left, but no fish? Mrs. Salmon suggested that maybe it was saying Christ is more than enough. Christ is the bread and we have an abundance of Him. I mean, how sweet is that?!

I'm so happy and in love with my Lord. Things aren't perfect but that's okay and that's what makes redemption so sweet and beautiful. Happy New Year friends!
